Binderholz Acquires BSW Timber | All Things Arb

Stories and important info on tree services.

Private equity firm Endless has sold forestry and sawmilling company BSW Timber to a worldwide organisation.

Earlston, Berwickshire, is the company’s headquarters, which was formed in 1848. It is part of the BSW Group, which operates from locations in Newbridge-on-Wye, Southampton, Carlisle, Dalbeattie, Petersmuir, Fort William, and Boat of Garten.

The buyout is being carried out by Binderholz, a global sawmiller and manufacturer of cross laminated timber, solid wood panels, pressed pallet blocks, wood pellets, and briquettes.

BSW will merge with Binderholz under the direction of chief executive Tony Hackney.

“Our management teams throughout the business units will stay in place, and the Binder family and senior management will continue to support the whole team,” he added. “BSW’s long-established name will be retained, and operations will continue as usual, with a far larger ability to provide a broader range of items.

“We will improve our skills in order to extend our capacity and increase our supply to all industries.

“We are all ecstatic and fully dedicated to supporting the company during its transition to new ownership, and we have shown our capacity to do so.”

Aidan Robson, Endless’ founding partner, added: “We are happy of what we have accomplished in such a short time at BSW, and we have loved working with the BSW team.

“We are overjoyed to be selling the firm to Binderholz, who have a proven track record of success and a market-leading reputation. We believe that this purchase will benefit BSW workers, customers, and the whole supply chain.”

Hackney came to the following conclusion: “This is a significant step forward in BSW’s development, and we are excited to tap into the Binderholz team’s skills and knowledge.

“I’d also want to express my gratitude to the Endless LLP team for their unwavering support throughout the years.”

MCF (corporate finance), Walker Morris (legal), PWC (financial and tax), Deloitte (pensions), Willis Towers Watson (insurance), and Propaganda advised Endless LLP and BSW (brand).

Alvarez and Marsal (finance, tax, and pensions), Flick Gocke Schaumberg (legal), and MacFarlanes advised Binderholz.
